Facilities
Research Laboratory
Research laboratory provides comprehensive facilities for support, guidance and resources to help our researchers advance their work. Laboratory was founded in 2020 and include analytical part, and two separate rooms for microbiology and molecular biology. In addition, it is currently fully equipped with new instruments for the analysis of biological tissues and important analytes in feed.
Routine Feed Analysis
The laboratory have been engaged for several years at the Department of Animal Nutrition and Forage Production. It processes samples from other research institutes of the Faculty of Agriculture of Mendel University in Brno. At the present time, it turnovers of several hundred samples a year. Our routine laboratory provides feed analysis according to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. List of analyses is available here.
Experimental Stables
The experimental stables are located in the new pavilion of Mendel University in Brno. Experimental facilitiy provides preparation of feed mixtures and feed storage, Moreover, experimental premises include small animals room (capacity 500 Albino Whistar rats), experimental pens and cages for poultry and dissecting room. In addition, we are able to provide extensive experiments (pigs, poultry, cattle) via our research partners. For more information contact us.
Research Station Vatín
Main purpose of RS Vatín is forage research on arable land, meadows, pastures and turfs. Generally, the research center adapts for small-plot experiments. For example: analysis of drain water and surface water erosion, effects of fertilisation on wheat, rape, peas and maize nutrition, foliar application of micronutrients, public grass plots’ management, pasture mixtures and others.
